The 2nd Annual Asheville Cupcake Competition
Finding the best cupcakes and supporting the American Cancer Society's efforts to find cures for cancer.
We are raising money to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to find cures for cancer because it is projected that in 2011 over 1,000 Ashevilleans will hear the words, “you have cancer.” We need cures, better treatment options, more accurate screening tests, more education on ways to reduce cancer risk, improved access to cancer care for everyone, and caring support for survivors and their families. Cupcakes for Cures is our way to get involved with the American Cancer Society -- to have fun while doing something about this disease that has affected so many of our loved ones, neighbors, and friends. The American Cancer Society is saving lives and creating more birthdays by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer. That’s why!
Cupcakes for Cures was started by two couples in Asheville as our Relay for Life team. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs in the fight against cancer. It represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. After you enjoy Cupcakes For Cures on March 26th, 2011 at the Grove Park Inn, we also invite you to join us at the Relay For Life of Asheville on June 3 at Reynolds High School. You might even get another chance to eat your favorite cupcake.
