Do we bake and decorate our cupcakes at the event?
No. You should bring your cupcakes baked, decorated and ready to be judged.

What time do we need to bring our cupcakes to the event?
Youth and Amateur Bakers should bring their cupcakes between 9:00 and 11:00 am. When you check-in you will get your event ticket for you to use when you return at 1:00. Skilled Cupcake Handler Volunteers will take your cupcakes and set them up on our cupcake displays. You do not need to bring items (trays, cupcake trees, etc.) to display your cupcakes.
Professional Bakers your setup time is between 10:00 and 12:00. You should bring everything you need to display your cupcakes and promote your business. Wow those cupcake lovers!

What do I get with my event ticket?
Each ticket holder will receive 10 cupcake coupons. You can use your cupcake coupons to get cupcakes and togo boxes along with a few other things. Each mini cupcake is 1 coupon and regular cupcake is 2 coupons. You can get more coupons at any time during the event if you need more cupcakes!

I have entered a cupcake, do I need a ticket?
No. Each baker will receive a ticket, but your family and friends will need some!

I ordered my ticket online, will you mail it to me?
No. All tickets ordered online will be waiting for you at the event. We are so excited to see you at the event!

Do I need to stand with my cupcakes during the event?
Yes and no... youth and amateur bakers do not need to stand with their cupcakes, but professional bakers do.

How do I get to the event room at the Grove Park Inn?
The event will take place in the Heritage Ballroom in the Sammons’ wing. The best place to park is in the Sammons parking garage. To reach this garage turn left towards the main entrance, pass the entrance on your left and continue to the garage on your right. Click here to view a map of the Grove Park Inn Resort.

How many cupcakes do I need to bring?
The minimum number of cupcakes you should bring is 6 regular size cupcakes and 24 mini cupcakes. We welcome you bringing more. Three of your regular size cupcakes will reserved for the judges. All the other cupcakes you bring will be for the cupcake lovers attending the event. They will also be selecting the People’s Choice Award.

When will you announce the winners?
The grand prize judging and the announcement of the Best In Show will take place between 2:30 and 3:00. The category winners in every level will be announced throughout the event.

Do all the decorations on the cupcakes need to be edible?
No. As long as it is clear the decoration should not be eaten.

Can I still compete if I can not be present?
Yes. Just bring your cupcakes during the drop off time or hive someone bring them for you. Each baker receives their event ticket when they check in, so if you can not come be sure to give your ticket to someone special.

Can I use cake mix for the cake part of the cupcake?
No. All cupcakes must be made from scratch. Check out the Competition Rules for more on what and what not to do.
