About the competition

Cupcakes for Cures is Asheville’s Cupcake Faceoff created a group of cupcake loving, cancer fighting Ashevilleans.

Professional bakers, amateur bakers and youth bakers compete for bragging rights and fantastic prizes all while raising funds to find cures for cancer. Bakers can enter multiple culinary creations in true Asheville categories like Best Cocktail or Beer Inspired Cupcake, Best Wedding Cupcake, Best Gluten-Free Cupcake, Best Special Occasion Cupcake, Best Local Foods Cupcake, Best Retro Cupcake and Best Media Inspired Cupcake (youth only). About the cause

We are raising money to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to find cures for cancer because it is projected that in 2011 over 1,000 Ashevilleans will hear the words, “you have cancer.”
